Course procedure

• Registration at the ski school office (valley station car park).
• Meeting point at the valley station of the cable car
• 15 minutes before the start of the course Classification of courses and private lessons
• Courses from 2 to 6 days of 2 hours each
• Final race with prize giving

Private lessons procedure

• Registration at the ski school office (parking lot valley station)
• Meeting point on the hour at the valley station of the cable car
• Individual learning
• Several people can take part at one private lesson
• We offer private lessons on weekends as well
• One private lesson lasts 55 minutes
• Private lessons are offered from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., whereby the time period from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. is reserved for group lessons

Once upon a time...

Until 30 years ago, there was enough snow everywhere in the Sarntal Valley to ski. And that's what the skiing enthusiasts of Sarntal did. Around the village of Sarnthein and in the Pensertal, races were held and many participated in the sport. Finally, in 1974, the Reinswald ski area opened, giving skiing in the Sarntal Valley not only a new home, but also a different dimension.

Stauder Hans was the first ski instructor in the Sarntal Valley. Already in 1968, he passed the exam to become an "assistant ski instructor" in Madonna di Campiglio. Finally, in Moena, Hans Stauder reached the first grade of ski instructor. He worked as a ski instructor for three years each in Sulden and on the Seiser Alm.

In 1976 Alois Hochkofler, president of the ski resort Reinswald asked Hans Stauder to open a ski school in Reinswald. At that time Hans Stauder was the only one in the valley who had the legal requirements to do so. After some hesitation, Hans Stauder together with Franz Thaler opened the "Reinswald Ski School", at that time still a private enterprise.

At the beginning the demand was low, because tourism had still to be developed. Hans Stauder therefore opened an additional ski rental shop, where even the ski instructors helped out. Year after year new ski instructors joined the company.

On 17.10.1988 the ski school was transformed into a company and at the same time the name of the ski school was changed from "Skischule Reinswald" to "Skischule Sarntal".

Hans Stauder led the ski school until 1997. His successor Joachim Thaler is still the present ski school manager. However, from 2007 to 2013 Robert Oberhöller oversaw the ski school too.
